September 2016 Newsletter

I greet you in the name of the Lord! I want to thank you for your continued belief in the vision of Bible Alliance…to translate and produce the FireBible into 100 languages by 2022. We are gaining on this target and have just launched our 43rd language edition, the Japanese FireBible , the first week of September. We were able to complete and deliver this FireBible to the leadership and pastors of the church in Japan because of your faithfulness!

In 1 Corinthians 3:6-9, we hear from Paul about the role that each of us play in the kingdom. He describes our individual function…that some plant, some water, but God causes the growth or increase. Paul also goes on to state, “The one who plants and the one who waters have one purpose…For we are co-workers in God’s service.” I recount this portion of scripture to emphasize that your partnership, your faithful monthly giving and prayer as a Game Changer, serves as the planting and watering that Paul describes. And we don’t do this alone, we co-labor together to provide the tools into the hands of leaders, pastors, and believers so that God can cause the growth!

Toshikazu Iwaoka, Associate Director of New Life Ministries Japan, stated so clearly, “Our hope is God’s word will be spread through the Japanese FireBible to all of Japan and a huge number of Japanese (will) understand God’s Word from this book. Thank you for planting the seeds; we pray that God will make it grow.”

Akei Ito, the former General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Japan and the Managing Editor of this project, clarified the need for this language edition in the following statement: “Because of the shortage of ministers in Japan, due to the aging of ministers and fewer candidates for ministry, there is a great need of utilizing lay people in the leadership role in local churches. In the teaching of how to study and understand the Bible properly, I am emphasizing the importance of looking into the introduction of each book of the Bible, historical and cultural background, location and theological issues involved, etc. The FireBible meets that need immediately. And so I am recommending the FireBible to those lay people as well as those who want to search the Word more intensely…I am sure the FireBible will be a blessing to the future churches of Japan.”

I hope you take a moment to reflect on these pictures from the launch, on the faces of individuals, lives that you have affected by helping to supply the Japanese FireBible, And there will be countless others, influenced for eternity by the seed that has been planted and watered by us together, and God will cause the increase!
