THE CEBUANO LANGUAGE
Across the archipelago known as the Philippines, 20 million people speak the Cebuano language. It is the second most-spoken language in the Philippines after Tagalog.
Cebuano has several dialects, which differ depending on the region, and has influences from the Spanish and English languages.
Though it is only formally taught in grades 1 & 2, and not recognized as an official language, Cebuano remains the common language throughout the Central Visayas and parts of Mindanao.
