THE CHICHEWA LANGUAGE
The countries of Malawi and Zambia speak the Chichewa language. Malawi is a landlocked country about the size of Pennsylvania, whose neighbors include Zambia.
Here, Chichewa is considered the official language. The country of Zambia is also landlocked and is slightly larger than Texas. While the official language of the people is English, many other languages, including Chichewa, are spoken. Across Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and Mozambique, there are 12 million people who speak the Chichewa language.
