The Korean Language
Korean, spoken by 77 million people, is the national and official language of the Koreas. Within each country, there is an official dialect, and there are seven dialects total.
Uniquely, many consider Korean to be a language isolate, meaning that there are no genealogical relationships that are traceable to its origin. Each language differs slightly in alphabetization, vocabulary, and spelling but, overall, they are generally the same. Outside of its native country, Korean is spoken by populations in China, Japan, Vietnam, Russia, Canada, and the United States.
