The Ukrainian Language
Worldwide, there are 40 million people who speak Ukrainian. It is the official language of the country of Ukraine, where 83% of its speakers live.
Ukrainian is a Slavik language and shares some vocabulary with Russian, Belarusian, and Polish. In written form, it uses the Cyrillic alphabet. Though the majority of its speakers live in Ukraine, other small speaking populations live in Russia, Eastern Europe, Latin America, the United States, and Canada.
